Journal #1 JMS 550
Hello! My name is Jermelle MacLeod. I’m a second-semester senior at San Diego State University. In my spare time, I enjoy powerlifting, shooting, and messing around with my friends. I’m a baptized Orthodox Christian and, ironically enough, I enjoy listening to metal music of all genres. I’m writing this journal to explain exactly what these journal entries are for and go over some goals for the class.
I’m forced to work on a giant capstone project. If I had it my way I’d just sit mindlessly through a lecture and take the piece of paper I was promised. But unfortunately, that’s not the case. So, the subsequent journal entries will be about creating the capstone and my thoughts on class material (as per required by the syllabus.)
My goals for this class are simple and are in order of importance.
- Pass.
- Learn how to stick to one particular project and story without losing my own interest and the interest of the reader.
- Tighten up my writing. I’m an author first, a journalist second. Anything I can do to sharpen my writing and make it more Hemingway-esque is a net gain.
I hope you enjoy reading through my entries, and I certainly hope I attain my first goal for the class more than any other goal.
